This Warranty Policy sets out your rights and our obligations in relation to goods purchased from Sunprofit in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).
Nothing in this policy limits or replaces your statutory rights under South African law.
2. Implied Warranty of Quality (CPA Section 56)
In terms of the CPA, all goods sold by Sunprofit carry an automatic 6-month warranty of quality.
This means that goods must:
be reasonably suitable for the purpose they are intended for;
be of good quality, in good working order, and free of defects;
be durable and usable for a reasonable period of time;
comply with any applicable standards or descriptions.
3. Your Rights Under the CPA
If a product fails to meet the above standards within 6 months of delivery, you are entitled to return it to Sunprofit.
Upon return, you may choose one of the following remedies:
Repair the item;
Replace the item; or
Refund the purchase price.
This choice is yours, unless the remedy is impossible or disproportionate.
4. Repairs and the 3-Month Warranty
If a product is repaired:
The repair carries an additional 3-month warranty from the date of repair.
If the same defect occurs within this 3-month period, Sunprofit must:
replace the item; or
refund you.
5. When a Warranty Claim May Be Rejected
A warranty claim may not be accepted if the defect or damage is caused by:
Misuse, abuse, or negligence;
Normal wear and tear;
Incorrect installation or handling;
Unauthorised repairs or modifications;
Failure to follow product instructions;
External factors such as power surges, water damage, or environmental conditions;
Use of the product for purposes other than its intended use.
6. Manufacturer and Extended Warranties
Some products may include:
6.1 Manufacturer Warranties
These are provided directly by the manufacturer.
Customers may be required to deal directly with the manufacturer.
Sunprofit will assist where reasonably possible.
6.2 Extended Warranties
Certain products may carry warranties beyond the CPA’s 6-month period.
These warranties are subject to the supplier’s terms and conditions.
7. Return Process for Warranty Claims
To initiate a warranty claim:
Contact Sunprofit support.
Provide:
Proof of purchase
Description of the defect
Supporting images (if applicable)
Return the item:
via arranged collection; or
via an approved return method.
All returned items will be inspected and tested before a claim is approved.
8. Inspection and Assessment
Sunprofit reserves the right to inspect, test, and assess returned products.
If no fault is found or the issue falls outside warranty terms:
The item may be returned to you; and
A handling, collection, or assessment fee may apply.
9. Refunds
Where a refund is approved:
Refunds will be processed via the original payment method;
Processing may take 3–5 business days (subject to bank processing times);
If the original payment method is unavailable, bank details may be requested and verified.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sunprofit shall not be liable for:
indirect or consequential losses;
loss of income, business, or data;
damages arising from improper use of products.
11. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
using products according to instructions;
taking reasonable care of products;
ensuring compatibility and correct usage;
backing up data on electronic devices before return.
